Wink ("we", "us", or "our") operates a conversational delivery platform that connects customers with nearby drivers through a chat-based interface. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

By using Wink, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to provide and improve our services:

Information you provide directly

  • Your phone number, used for OTP authentication
  • Delivery address and location details you share in chat
  • Chat messages and voice notes you send through the app
  • Payment information (processed securely by our payment providers)

Information collected automatically

  • Precise location data, when you grant permission, to match you with nearby drivers
  • Device information including operating system, device model, and app version
  • Usage data such as session duration, features accessed, and interaction patterns
  • IP address and network information

Information from third parties

  • Payment verification data from our payment processing partners
  • Map and location data from mapping service providers

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To authenticate your identity via OTP and maintain your account
  • To process and fulfill your delivery requests
  • To match you with the nearest available driver
  • To enable real-time tracking of your delivery
  • To process payments and issue receipts
  • To send you order updates and service notifications
  • To improve and personalize our services
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety incidents
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your chat messages or voice notes for advertising purposes. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

With your driver — When a driver is assigned to your request, they receive your delivery address, your first name, and the details of your order as shared in chat. They do not receive your phone number unless you choose to share it.

With service providers — We work with trusted third-party providers for payment processing, mapping, analytics, and cloud infrastructure. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us.

For legal reasons — We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business transfers — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:

  • Order history and chat records are retained for 24 months from the date of the order
  • Voice notes are deleted from our servers within 30 days of delivery completion
  • Location data is retained for 12 months to improve dispatch accuracy
  • Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by applicable financial regulations

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. See Section 5 for details.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Portability — Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection — Object to certain types of processing, including profiling
  • Restriction — Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances

  • OTP-based authentication — no passwords stored
  • Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by law.

7. Children's Privacy

Wink is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via SMS at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of Wink after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
